Vivaldi Browser on Android gets configurable address and tab bars, full-page blocking

The first stable version of the Vivaldi Browser for Android rolled out on the Google Play Store earlier this year in April. Since then, the privacy-focused browser has received a few updates that unlocked new features, like dark mode support for web content, custom adblocking lists, and one-handed usability improvements. Now, Vivaldi Browser v3.3 has started rolling out on the Play Store, and it brings two useful features.

As per the official blog post from the developers, Vivaldi Browser v3.3 for Android brings new options to help users configure the Address Bar and Tab Bar. Following the update, users will be able to move the bars to the bottom or keep them at the top of the UI, based on their preference. The new feature builds upon the one-handed usability improvements that were released early last month.

Along with the configurable Address and Tab Bars, the latest Vivaldi Browser update brings improvements for the built-in Tracker and Ad Blocker. Both these features now support full-page browsing, which is expected to help users browse more safely. If you’re interested in trying out the new features on your device, you can download the latest version of the browser from the Play Store link below. The new features are also available for up-to-date Chromebooks.

Vivaldi Browser for desktops has also been updated to v3.3, and it packs in a new Break mode, a new theme for Private Windows, clickable parts of URLs in the Address Bar, base domain highlighting, and improvements to the built-in Tracker and Ad Blocker. The new Break Mode is a digital wellbeing feature that is expected to help users improve work-life balance and focus on activities outside the browser.

The feature can be enabled by a new pause button to the left of the Status Bar. Once enabled, the feature will mute and stop HTML5 audio and videos, and hide all tabs and panels to avoid distractions. To resume browsing, you can click on the play button and the browser will restore all your browsing activity. Alternatively, the Break Mode can be triggered with Quick Commands or the “Ctrl+.” keyboard shortcut. If you’re interested in trying this new feature, you can download Vivaldi Browser for desktop by following this link.
